Filming laid off

We have had multiple chances to film our opening video however we have had many complication and difficulties to do this because of the weather. Our original idea was that the scene would be set in a spring days however with it being winter it is difficult for us to do this. Some errors that we have witnessed is that shooting in the opposite weather to what you want really is more difficult than expected. As we need a bit of breeze and sunshine we have been getting rain and snow.

On the first Monday we tried filming it had snowed, we then planned to film later that week but the snow hadn't gone and just turned into ice. This would of been dangerous as we have to bike in the filming therefore it isn't good to put ourselves in danger.

After that we planned to film the following Monday and Tuesday, but unfortunately we were expected heavy rain.

We have decided to film on Sunday and Monday. With the complications we have experienced we have made sure to check the weather to ensure these complication don't happen again.

Area shots for the travel sequence

This is one of the possible filming locations, it’s a river just outside of Peakirk. This could be used as part of Alice’s journey:

We will continue to bike around this area as its quite remote therefore hardly any modern cars will drive past that will affect our sequence. We also thought that this place had a creepy look to it which we needed for our film opening so that it added to the genre and so it was made clear to the audience what the film was roughly going to be about. We imagined what the area would look like once we had a black and white effect on it (which is what we plan to use for our film opening) and desided that it would look effective for the time that the film is set in and the genre idea.

For example this is what the surrounding area looks like:

We looked at this area carefully and thought that is would be good for some shots for the bike ride because the road is long and remote as there is no cars or houses around so there won't be many people around for when we film as that would also ruin the 1960's feel of the film because they won't be dressed appropriately for the era of which we are trying to portray to the audience of our film opening. The trees being bare of leaves on the side made us think that this was also another reason why this was a great choice for one of our travel shots because it looks ery and creepy, adding again to the genre of the film opening being thriller.

Main prop

Sibel, who plays Alice, her main prop in the film opening is the old fashioned bike. The bike was actually mine, and we thought it fit into our opening very well. As it was a bike from the sort of era that we were aiming for. Without this prop the film would be completely different, so it plays a big part.
Laura, who plays Rosie, doesn't have a prop in the opening as she doesn't do much apart from sit there and laugh with Alice.
